Erick Morillo & Roger Sanchez pop up @ SOULHEAVEN with Louie vega + Line Ups until the end of the season Sept. 21st..hope to see you there
Soul Heaven & Louie Vega ‘s Sunday Session is the Place To Be Seen At - Erick Morillo on the dex and Roger Sanchez dropping by
The irrepressible Erick Morillo joined Louie Vega on the dex at last Sunday’s Soul Heaven session at El Divino, playing out a few tracks and sealing his approval of Louie’s first ever residency on Ibiza.
A massive draw with the other New York house originals, Roger Sanchez also swung by to enjoy Blaze’s Kevin Hedge work the crowd up in jumping style before an incredible set from Louie. The crowd stayed on the dancefloor till the end, and a huge set from circus troupe extraordinaire, Cirque De Soleil turned the VIP area into its own little flamboyant jam. With a Live set from Soni singing her track “Here To Stay”, Soul Heaven displayed its finest talents and was of course really well supported by a lot of high profile “friends”. You can expect more of this throughout the season as people drop in to be part of the night that is doing something truly unique on the island.

Alex Font “Changes in the City”
Spanish producer Alex Font is the latest house sensation to make the move from the Mediteranean climate to London’s more underground scene.
Surely a move in the wrong direction you cry as tens of thousands of Londoners stream in the other direction Ibiza bound, but for Alex the call of London's 24 hour underground party scene and the community of producers there was too strong.
Unlike most pasty faced Londoners crawling out of warehouse parties at ten in the morning he can be consoled by the fact he is one of Spains most in-demand DJ's which means he can always hop an EasyJet home whenever he needs to top up the tan and play a gig in an open air courtyard.
Alex cut his teeth DJ'ing in Valencia and quickly moved to playing around Spain’s best venues around Madrid, Barcelona and Ibiza where he hooked up with UK promoters like Azuli and Hat Club and met Floorplay owners Prok & Fitch who signed up "Changes in the City" after the first listen.

HYPER “SUICIDE TUESDAY”
“There's more than a tinge of the rock and industrial to a lot of the material here...This isn't preening music for the beautiful people, this is heads-down sweat-soaked stuff for people who dance hard until the lights come up and the bouncers shove them out of the venue”
Distorting and blurring the musical boundaries, Hyper unleash their dark and satirically-named new album, 'Suicide Tuesday' on Kilowatt Recordings in September 2008. Already creating a stir around the first single, “Centre Attraction”, the second album entitled 'Suicide Tuesday' throbs with punk energy, razor-sharp guitars and bass, and their trademark mashed up beats. Creating their own blitzkrieg electronic sound unlike anything else out there; Hyper's sophomore album is the 'night after the day before' companion to their ground breaking debut album. If Crass and the Pistols had the tech know-how and ended up in a transit van with a French electro sound and Pendulum's stadium beats you'd be close with a bloody nose.

Kraak & Smaak
the new single “Plastic People” + Bonus Track “California Roll”
"Plastic People" is the hypnotising, twisted new funk arouser from Holland’s festival breakout stars, Kraak & Smaak. Featuring the vocal talents of Bobby NiO, “Plastic People” was co-written with Moloko’s Mark Brydon and shows a different and darker side to Kraak & Smaak. Born out of playing to big crowds on the European Festival circuit “Plastic People” retains the trademark K&S funk that is the key to all their releases, whilst bugging out the beats.
Mixes come from Prok & Fitch two of the hottest producers in house who deliver a stripped back and pumped up main room house mix. Next up is Swiss deep house don, Deetron whose "i cling" track has been a favourite with everyone from techno DJ's to Gilles Peterson, and finally All Good Funk Alliance provide a rolling breakbeat mix for the Jalapeno faithful. Also featured here is the wicked early hours Club mix anthem of “California Roll”, a deep house highlight from the K&S album and guaranteed to be a terrace favourite wherever you are.

Hyper and the new single "Centre Attraction"..please holler for copies and play loud when received
“CENTRE ATTRACTION”
One of the UK’s most exciting electronic bands, Hyper, return to the fray with an explosive new single “Centre Attraction”. Bass-crunching, speaker-blowing noisy electronica with attitude rips this tune that’s just starting to escape on promo right on time for the festival season.
A live set favourite already, the first new Hyper single, “Centre Attraction” vocalled by Jim Davies, is a pogo-at-the-front type of tune that grabs you from its first “digital punk” burn. “Sticking the knife into the cult of celebrity”, “Centre Attraction” is peaktime action that screams to be played very loud indeed. Press play and stand back.

Naba - the debut album "Underwater Aqualung" with collaborations with Maxi Jazz, Shyrock and DJ Biznizz

This is another. A fantastic record, and what you all 'didn't know you were underwater..? Here's your Aqualung. Respect.” Maxi Jazz

SOUL HEAVEN OPENING PARTY
Sunday June 8th saw the opening Party of Louie Vega & friends at Eldivino. Friends, press & party people had flown in especially from all over Europe for Louie Vega’s 1st ever Ibiza residency and everyone got down together, commenting that they had not heard music the like of this on the island before
Louie was supported in style by Soul Heaven resident, Neil Pierce of Fanatix fame, with Pas, and
from The Vega records stable the charismatic Mr V, beautiful singer Anane plus the melodic beats on

LISA MILLETT & DJ DEVICE
"ONE DAY YOU WANT ME"
Leading UK dance siren Lisa Millett teams up with DJ Device to delivers a soulful house bullet right on time to be hammered in the Miami WMC sunshine and beyond. Upfront support for this bumping new vocal groove comes from top London pirates House, Push, and Unknown and internet stations SS Radio and Hands On, as well as tastemaker jocks Paul "Trouble" Anderson, DJ Pope and Tony Humphries buzzing "One Day You Want Me" ahead of its April release date
A sensual, heartfelt, vocal House track of the highest order, "One Day You Want Me" kicks off with R.K's key-charged minimal dubby Club Mix which lets Lisa rip across the hypnotic swinging groove. Working the floor, this is the one the pirates have been rinsing. Bad To The Bone and Booker T's Remix opt for a streetwise, urban styled filtering bassline and keys groove that's also got that old skool uplifting stamp all over it. Rounding off is Dj Device's Original Club Mix, a classic old skool house stomp that showcases Lisa's super vocal.

Kraak & Smaak feat. Ben Westbeech "Squeeze Me" featuring mixes from Trevor Loveys , A Skillz, Jem Stone and Lack of Afro
Squeeze me" is the first full single from the new Kraak & Smaak album Plastic People. Featuring vocals from rising soul star Ben Westbeech (whose album "Welcome to the Best Years of Your Life" on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label made it into nearly all of the Best of 2007 charts), means this track is already being tipped as the one to propel K&S into the charts.
Marrying the Kraakers future funk and hip hop beats with a sensational Westbeech vocal made this track a sure bet as the first choice single although the band did release a couple of warm up EP's to remind everyone why their debut album "Boogie Angst" was a worldwide success.
"Funk Ass Rotator / Mad as Hell" was aimed firmly at the dancefloor and has earned the boys a Radio 1 guest mix later on this month while "That's Our Word" showcased the bands more leftfield side featuring a collaboration with Stones Throw rapper Dudley Perkins.

LA BOMBA! 1st Anniversary Party at Ministry of Sound on Friday 8th March 2008
London's explosive and essential Latin rave, now with live Reggaeton acts flown in directly from Latin America!
La Bomba now goes monthly with a special live performance in March from Puerto Rico's famed Reggaeton pioneer act Las Guanabanas and celebrates its 1st anniversary at the Ministry of sound
"All ethnicities bienvenido"
The resounding success of La Bomba - The Latin Explosion has created shock waves across London's club scene with its effervescent hot mix of urban Latino sights and sounds and has already created a rush for more parties across the UK and internationally including events in Brighton, Germany & Spain
La Bomba returns to Ministry of Sound on Friday March 8th 2008, hosting the exclusive live show of legendary Puerto Rican reggaeton act Las Guanabanas, on their only UK visit since their European tour 5 years ago!
For more than 10 years Las Guanabanas have been one of the most popular Reggaeton acts in the Caribbean. Borne in the late 80's as a dance crew, Georgie and Joelito went on to record one of reggaeton's seminal albums The Noise, which launched their irreverent and fresh style of urban Latin music. They found fame and popularity amongst young Puerto Ricans, becoming the voice a whole generation long before commercial reggaeton and Latin hip Hop made it onto the airwaves.

The return of SOOPASOUL with "BRAND NU"

props on "Swing Down EP" from Aquasky, Kid Kenobi, Freddie Fresh, Barry Ashworth(Dub Pistols) Nick Slater (Finger Lickin Records/Rock Steady), Tim Hancock (Capoeira Twins, Midlands) and more
Take some raw live drums and horns, throw in a killer funky vocal and stir with some dope bass and percussion, and whaddya get ? "BRAND NU' the urgent and moving new Soopasoul vocal outing on Jalapeno. First heard as a standout track on the recent hot "Jalapeno Funk Vol 1" album, "Brand Nu" is already pricking up the ears of Soopasoul's peers, and exploding outta tastemaker playlists. Don't sleep on the rollin' soulful funky live breaks jam
Kicking off the "Brand Nu" set is the killer vocal version featuring the talented Mississippi-born gospel newcomer, Nikeya , whose voice rings out in urgency across the soulscape. A sexy calling-your-partner-on-it funky number with extra breaks and horns flava, this is one helluva slinky ride with some killer drum breakouts. The Lack Of Afro Remix follows with its spacey breaks, and more minimal mono broken-beat funky breaks production as the vocal calls out across the groove. One for the DJ's and funk heads is the old skool classic sounding bonus cut, "Ya Lookin' Tight" guaranteed to get the party started in wicked horns, guitar and percussive J Funk style. Where the JB's and breaks worlds collide, this is nu organic funk that's working the dancefloor, especially on those hand-clapping breakdowns! And rounding off this impressive set is the housey Direckt Remix, 4 to the floor groovement with those lush keys, vocal and horns.
Soopasoul is that rarest of things in this electronic age of dance music: a band where everything is played in live, where loops and plug-ins are eschewed in favour of a drum kit in the living room, guitars and bass that are lying around and a funky horn section so steeped in tradition that you can feel the real deal being played out in front of your ears.

Kraak & Smaak unveil their new album “Plastic People”
featuring collaborations with Ben Westbeech, Mark Brydon (Moloko) and Dudley Perkins (Stones Throw).
"The new album is a bit more grown up than the first album. We've worked with some of our contemporaries who we massively respect and that's had an effect" Wim Plug
"We were really pleased when Sander Kleinenberg licensed an upfront version of one of our new album tracks for his Renaissance compilation. That wouldn't have happened with our first album" Mark Kneppers
"I like the simplicity of playing live as there's only one goal - get to the gig - do the gig - do the after party - move on. There's no complications and you end up in these places you would never visit on holiday. If you go on holiday you go to a beach somewhere but the places we've seen we would never have seen if it wasn't for the band. We've already had some massive high points like pulling into LA in our tour bus to play a sell out gig at the El Rey with our name up in the classic American style on the front of the theatre but we're still a baby band, the best is yet to come - it will be a long time before you hear us moaning about going on tour" Oscar De Jong
Heineken, Van Gogh, Kraak & Smaak. The three most famous things to come out of Holland. Ever. In that order. Ok so maybe a bit of an exaggeration but the last three years have been an incredible ride for the band considered to be Holland's most credible export and as they gear up for the release of their second album things seem set to get even crazier.

Soopasoul’s new tune ”Wild Mad Beat” available as free download from www.soopasoul.com BBC6 His current ”Swing Down EP” is No10 in DMC’s Zzub Chart and BBC 6’s Craig Charles is also digging it folks!
Soopasoul debuts with the ”Swing Down EP”
Soopasoul goes back to the real deal with his totally live raw new funk n’ breaks debut, the three track ”Swing Down EP” ushering in a new era of Jalapeno Funk. Already pricking up the ears of his peers, Soopasoul’s main man, Danny Hibrid is about to hit the dex at clubs near you where people really are dancing to funky ass live sh*t!
Kicking off the ”Swing Down EP” is the killer vocal title track, with a drum roll flourish for openers. A sexy making-out funk number with extra breaks and horns flava, this is one helluva slinky ride with some killer drum breakouts. The Instrumental follows for the heads and DJ’s before the percussive Jalapeno Funk of ”Twin Stix” erupts. Where the JB’s and breaks worlds collide, this is groovement in its rawest form. And rounding off this impressive debut set is ”Lookin’ For Freddie”, blowing strong where super don Curtis Mayfield left off, for more old but nu organic funk.
Soopasoul is that rarest of things in this electronic age
of dance music: a band where everything is played in live, where loops
and plug-ins are eschewed in favour of a drum kit in the living room,
guitars and bass that are lying around and a funky horn section so
steeped in tradition that you can feel the real deal being played out
in front of your ears.

Luciana from Bodyrox surprised 2,000 party people at MN2S’s Closing party last Monday at El Divinos with a spectacular impromptu peaktime live set.
Kicking off with the massive Bodyrox “Yeah Yeah” hit Luciana tore the club apart and followed up with her new single, “What Planet You On’ . Unable to leave the stage due to the crowd pressing in, Luciana had to be carried off stage through the crowd by 3 male dancers, as the crowd screamed for more.
With Ibiza’s 2007 man of the season, Fedde Le Grand, once again on the dex for MN2S, the music was rocking, as Fedde’s blistering mix skills kept the crowd shouting and whooping all night long. Mobbed before and after his set for photos and autographs, Fedde was joined by his production partner, Funkerman for some back to back mix madness, and they kept the joint jumping until the sun came up.

MN2S Go Digital
Due to the high cost and associated overheads of vinyl production, MN2S are to become one of the first prominent independent label to make the shift to release their material via digital download only. “The price of vinyl is just too high and we've decided to pay our artists instead of the many middle men that get rich in the process. Distributors, pressing plants, printers, couriers, packers, shrink-wrappers etc have all been taking a cut out of the artist pie for too long” says MN2S Label chief, Dave Elkabas.
Able to retail to consumers at drastically reduced prices, with the artist actually receiving more for each sale is an irresistable new model for MN2S. All MN2S tracks are now exclusively available from www. mn2s.com and other good online retails.
“This not only allows our DJ customers to get our tracks cheaper and faster than ever before, but also allows our catalogue to become accessible by a far wider audience, both geographically and demographically, due to the reach of the internet and the recent plethora of portable mp3 players. You don't have to have a big old analogue record player to make buying our music relevant” adds Dave Elkabas.

With Special Guest, the Godfather of Reggaeton, DJ Nelson
The resounding success of La Bomba – The Latin Explosion, after only 4 parties, has created shock waves across London’s club scene with its effervescent mix of urban Latino sights and sounds and has created a demand for more parties across the UK and internationally.

Last week temperatures soared as 2,000 clubbers enjoyed Ibiza’s hottest new Monday party, MN2S @ El Divino.
Breaking box office attendance, and bar takings records, with over 500 bottles of vodka being drunk on the night, dancers stripped down to their thongs, as the party people danced the night away to the sounds of Fedde Le Grand and Seamus Haji.
This is typical of MN2S’ second season having landed Dutch superstar and
girl's favourite, Fedde le Grand, to kick the season off and play 4
exclusive dates including September 3rd and the closing party on September
17th. Mobbed in his Hummer after a massive opening night, Fedde’s villa
location is now a closely guarded secret, (and may even have to change), as last
week girls clamped out at the perimeter fence to get close to the Dutch
hearthrob. The villa is so tucked away (and also home to Posh and Becks
when they visit the white isle) even the driver couldn’t find it and Fedde
nearly missed his flight home! Fedde is also npreviewing his amazing new
forthcoming smash ‘Let Me Think About It’ with Ida Corr, which is
already one of Ibiza’s summer anthems and set to dominate the Top 10 on its
September release.
